Environment- Arid and semi arid closed lake basins (alkaline lacustrine environments)
Process- Forms as a secondary chemical sedimentary mineral through the evaporation of boron rich waters or via the alteration of primary borates like borax and Ulexite.
Rock type- Evaporite deposits commonly associated with layers of clay,limestone,gypsum and other borates.
