Aurichalcite is a secondary mineral,meaning is does not form as the original igneous or metamorphic rocks cools,but is created through weathering and oxidation of primary ore bodies. It forms as dusty crusts,cavities longings or fuzzy mats coating host rocks like limestone or limonite.
The copper gives the mineral its characteristic pale green,sky blue,turquoise and greenish blue colours.
