Muscovite and beryl are both distinct silicate minerals. Muscovite is a monoclinic sheet silicate known for its perfect cleavage. Beryl is a hexagonal ring silicate. Though different in structure they frequently coexist in geologic formations like granite pegmatites.
Muscovite hardness is 2-2.5 on the mohs scale and beryl is 7.5-8 on the mohs scale.
