A dyed Quartz geode is hollow rock nodule lined with inward growing quartz crystals that has been artificially coloured.

Rock formation: Geodes are secondary formations originating inside volcanic or sedimentary rocks. Over millions of years silica rich hydrothermal fluids seep into trapped gas bubbles or sedimentary voids,causing microscopic crystals to precipitate and grow inward towards the hollow center.
